Susan Brandt is a resident of the Shackle Island Community in Hendersonville with a degree in art and elementary education. She taught for 40 years and has recently retired. Art has always been a passion. She has taught watercolor classes for adults for over 20 years. She enjoys painting rural scenes and landscapes and has painted many of the historical homes, feed mills and churches in that area. Her main medium is watercolor, but occasionally she uses oil or pastels. She has combined her paintings with pottery, specializing with animals painted on mugs. Julie Sharp – Jewelry
Julie has been making jewelry for over 10 years. She loves working with natural stones and has been influenced by her love of Colorado, working with such stones as turquoise, tiger eye, carnelian, and jasper, to name a few. She has added the fun activity of making earrings from guitar picks, some of which are made from vinyl records. She has taken lessons in Colorado and Nashville and participated in several craft fairs in the Hendersonville/Gallatin area. Her jewelry has been sold in two stores in Colorado and two in Nashville and is currently at the Rare Bird (Case B10) in Goodlettsville. Having retired from over 35 years in college teaching of writing and technical communication, she now has time to devote to the art of jewelry making.
